The Story:
After becoming discouraged about the Super Beetle, I decided that I still wanted an air-cooled VW, however rather than go the route of a Beetle, I wanted a Karmann Ghia. On April 8, 2000, I found this Ghia at a local Volkswagen shop. It was purchased for $800 and over the next 3 years, was given a complete makeover. All interior was ripped out of this car (and most of it replaced), loads of body work was done (by us, so it's far from perfect, hence the decal in the rear window), etc. It was my daily driver through my Senior year of high school. At this point, I have more pictures of this car than I can count. What can I say? It's my baby. It's a frequent attendant of Volkswagen shows in my area (very seldom wins anything, but that's not why I go), and gets looks from everyone as I drive by.
